Ramey’s Marketplace History

Ramey’s Marketplace is a family tradition starting back in the early 1950’s when Herbert Ramey Sr. saw a need in rural Wayne County, MS. He started the first traveling grocery “store” that would visit the local communities to provide the residents with fresh meats and produce. As times changed he converted his traveling “store” to a store front business in Waynesboro, MS. Herbert Ramey Jr. and his son Brad Ramey have carried on the tradition by growing the business to now owning and operating 22 stores in central and south Mississippi and west and southwest Alabama.

Ramey’s, which is integrating a fourth generation, has a workforce of over 700 employees. The growth has allowed the company to expand its operations and its reputation for consistency for the greater part of a century. Ramey’s partners with local and national vendors to aid Ramey’s in delivering on the promise of maintaining the highest level of competitively priced products and customer service.

Quality in the Bag

As Ramey’s sports on the front page of its flyers: “You’ve got Quality in the bag.” Customers can be assured that they’re purchasing items at a price that competes with those of larger, corporately owned chain retailers. Ramey’s also promises to provide products that exceed the freshest standards in all perishable items. It is widely known that you will find the freshest meat and produce every time you shop one of our stores. “You’ve got Quality in the bag.”

The company understands that times are tough in most households so it works to give customers the most value for their money. One of the many ways Ramey’s has made grocery shopping easier on consumers’ wallets is by implementing the Ramey’s Rewards Card. Customers loyalty is rewarded with each purchase made that allows for the accumulation of points which can be redeemed for super hot priced promotional items.

Ramey’s seeks to give families what the Ramey family itself needs and expects: a high-quality product at a reasonable price. Ramey’s Marketplace continues to adapt to a changing economic climate, never forsaking quality for price as it addresses the needs of customers throughout the Mississippi and Alabama.

Coupons Policy

Coupon Acceptance Policy

Ramey’s Marketplace accepts virtually all coupons from newspapers, magazines and other circulars.
Ramey’s will not accept these coupons if they do not scan at the register or if the coupon is expired.
Ramey’s Marketplace currently does not double, triple, or in any way adjust the manufacturers’ coupon amount.
If the manager on duty believes the coupon may be fraudulent, then the coupon will not be accepted.
Furthermore, if the coupon appears to be copied or altered in any way, then the coupon will not be accepted.
If your total order becomes negative because of the use of coupons, then the customer will not be refunded the negative amount.

Internet Coupon Acceptance Store Policy

Ramey’s Marketplace accepts legitimate printable coupons that consumers receive from manufacturer websites, email campaigns, interactive advertising and promotions on web publisher sites, and from legitimate online coupon sites. We recognize that our customers are increasingly turning to the Internet to find coupons. In an effort to make using printable coupons a positive experience, we have created these store policies and consumer guidelines to help consumers and store personnel alike prevent the abuse of these promotions.

Coupons

Must always scan properly at the register. Legitimate printable coupons are delivered using special software designed to print a properly rendered barcode on the coupon. Ramey’s Marketplace will only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout.
Will not be for “free” product. It is an industry practice not to produce printable coupons for free product. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable. “Free product” coupons should always be pre-printed and sent via postal mail or published in media, and printed double-sided and/or on security paper. Ramey’s Marketplace will not accept “FREE product” printable coupons.
Will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. Ramey’s Marketplace will not accept coupons for more than 75% of a product’s value with a cap of $5.00. (A very small amount of exceptions may override the cap of $5, but it would not be a daily occurrence and the store will have prior knowledge).
Usually have short expiration dates. Some coupons may have longer expiration dates, but most expire 30-45 days after you print them. Ramey’s Marketplace receives information about valid printable coupon expiration dates and will reject coupons that have altered expiration dates.
Are not received in a graphic, .pdf, or other document format. All legitimate printable coupons are sent directly to the printer after clicking on a link in your web browser or email. A legitimate coupon is never sent as a graphic, PDF, or in a Word document.
Are never copied, sold, or traded. Nearly all coupons are “non-transferable” meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others. Coupons are never sold and you should not pay for someone’s “time to clip” or other service fee. You should always print the coupon yourself directly from the website or email that is offering it. Only then can you ensure you are printing a legitimate coupon. Coupons may be rejected if they appear out of proportion, blurry, or are obvious duplicates.
Are nearly always printed using the same technology and therefore have a standard format, with very specific security features, including a unique serial code. Coupons may be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way.

Internet Coupon Policy Summary

The following internet coupon acceptance guidelines will be followed in all Ramey’s Marketplace stores:

The coupon is clearly legible.
The manufacturer’s contract is completely intact.
The coupon has an expiration date and the date has not expired.
The words “Manufacturer Coupon” appear on the coupon.
The coupon isn’t specific to a non Ramey’s store (i.e. Kroger coupon).
The customer has satisfied all conditions required by the manufacturer.
The value of the coupon is not greater than the retail price of the item.
The coupon value will not exceed $5.00 (rare exceptions may apply).
A UPC barcode exists on the coupon and scans at checkout.
No “FREE” coupons will be accepted (rare exceptions may apply).
Limit one coupon per product purchase.
Can be checked for validity at http://www.veri-fi.com
If your total order becomes negative because of the use of coupons, then the customer will not be refunded the negative amount.
